According to the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment, higher temperatures have been associated with increased occurrence of death and illness, including hospital visits, emergency room visits, and birth defects. Climate change significantly impacts communities of color. Click the link to fill out our survey researching the impact of climate change in our community.
Join us for this annual trip to the historic Allensworth State Park. Cost is $10 for current members, non-members $15, and youth and college $5 or enter total amount for multiple people. Please include the name of each participant and cellphone number and email address in the comment section below. Members, please include your membership number for verification. Once payment is received additional information will be provided regarding departure times. No refunds will be permitted.

Please join us as we celebrate Black History Month. The NAACP Merced County in partnership with the Merced County Historical Society bring you The African American Firefighter. Our program will feature the First Black Firefighters in Merced County: Mr. David Denson, Sr. and Mr. Willie Walker. In addition, current firefighters Chief Baraka Carter, Chief Derek Parker and Firefighter Griffin Batson will be available to answer questions regarding working in the fire service.
Students do you need money to attend college, vocational or trade school? Submit a copy of your school transcript and a one-page essay on civil rights. We will be selecting one recipient from each High Schools in the Merced Union High School District. Im addition, a student application from Merced College and UC Merced. Scholarship amounts vary. Scholarship are open to African-Americans or and other people of color.
